This week we continued working with percents. To get some real world thinking I had the students fill out an order form based on items from a “catalogue”. It’s a very simple activity, that gives them a chance to calculate sales tax, discount, and find percents of a total.
Since my birthday is approaching, I naturally had them “buy” items to give as a gift for me! Students had fun with it—some trying to spend the most, others picking out the cheapest items:) Either way, I was happy to see them engaged and practicing!
