Day 47, 48, 49 – Solving Fraction Equations Puzzle

Last week: Halloween, pep-rally, Socrative warm-up quiz. Busy week!

Today the classes did a Solving Fraction Equations Puzzle. Divided into groups of three, teams had to work together to connect 9 puzzle pieces. Each student had to show their work clearly on paper in order to get credit for finishing the puzzle. This puzzle works like a dominoes type game.20131104-214637.jpg

How it Works:
1-Find the piece that has “Start”. On that piece is an equation to solve.
2-Solve the equation. The answer is on the next puzzle piece.
3-On that answer piece is another equation to solve.
4-This continues until the “Finish” piece is reached!

I heard lots of good conversation and helpful teaching among group members. It was good, competitive fun and a good way to review solving equations.20131104-214645.jpg
